Facebook went down

If you couldn't post to Facebook this morning, you weren't alone. Facebook was down globally for several hours, even though Facebook called it a "brief period of time."



Trying to post to a business page yielded an error message. Even the one-click act of liking a status on any type of page returned a similar message. The same went for posting in groups, uploading photos and commenting. The site was never down - you could read whatever was already there - but you couldn't post anything new.
Posting via a third-party app yielded the same result.
